The South African Council For Educators (SACE) is the statutory body mandated to regulate, professionalise, and uphold the standards of the teaching profession in South Africa. Established under the SACE Act No. 31 of 2000, its key responsibilities include the registration of educators, promoting ongoing professional development, and ensuring adherence to ethical standards.
Through its Teacher Professionalisation division, SACE actively participates in the TICZA project as a key government stakeholder, advocating for the integration of teacher professionalisation objectives across the initiative. SACE also serves as the Chair of the TICZA Steering Committee, the project's highest decision-making body.
