The Anglo-American South Africa (AASA) Education programme 2022-2026, focuses on supporting 85 primary and secondary schools and 80 Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres local to the operations of three Anglo-American business units in the Limpopo, North West, and the Northern Cape provinces of South Africa.
The M&E Officer/ Data Officer will report to the M & E Manager and work under the guidance of the Programme Manager and the Executive Manager. S/he will support with development of data systems, data collection and analysis, and report writing to produce evidence on the value and impact of various programme interventions.
The Contract will be a fixed term contract that runs for one year and it is subject to renewal.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
What minimum education, qualifications, knowledge, skills, previous work experience, on the job training and competencies are required to perform the job:
· Honours Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Social Science, Development Studies, Monitoring & Evaluation and/or (or equivalent degree) withor any other related field.
· Proven experience as M & E Officer/Data Officer.
· Minimum of 3 years of work experience in programme monitoring and evaluation/data management.
· Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.).
· Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies.
· Knowledge of quantitative analytical techniques and tools (SPSS, STATA, R etc).Proficient in Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· An analytical mind-set with problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
· Good interpersonal skills.
· Proven skills in organization, including time management.
Responsibilities for the post:
· Supports with the development of data collection tools and instruments;
· Supports with primary data collection, and retrieval of secondary data from various internal and external databases;
· Supports with data management and quality assurance to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data;
· Assist with the development of a real-time electronic data system, and ensure electronic databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses
· Prepares reports (quantitative and qualitative) and contributes to reports for a wide range of audiences as required;
Supports Service Providers in the daily and monthly use of data systems and ensure adherence to the organisation and programme standards; and develop graphics and presentations and presents findings to clients.
· Monitor and analyse information and data systems to discover ways of enhancing them;
· Attends programme meetings as required;
· Undertakes other duties as required.
