We are hiring: Advocacy and Communication Officer

JET seeks to appoint an Advocacy and Communications Officer for the Post School Education and Training Collaboration and Learning Opportunities and Utilisation of Data (PSET CLOUD) Project, with the purpose of facilitating and implementing the PSET CLOUD's internal and external communications strategy. The incumbent's role entails the refinement, application and maintenance of the PSET CLOUD brand across all communications channels, including electronic and print media, and the production and dissemination of appropriate communication materials and content. The incumbent will report to the PSET CLOUD Advocacy and Communication project leader.

Job purpose:
Assisting in creating content, organising campaigns and implementing advocacy and communication strategies and plans.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Write advocacy and marketing literature (brochures, press releases etc.) to augment the company’s presence in the market
• Compose and post online advocacy and marketing communication content on the company’s website and social media accounts
• Monitor the consistent use of the PSET CLOUD logo and corporate identity manual elements
• Assist in the organising of advocacy and communication events, traditional and digital
• Employ marketing analytics techniques to gather relevant data (social media, web analytics, rankings etc.)
• Update spreadsheets and databases with statistical, financial, and non-financial information
• Undertake daily advocacy and communication administrative tasks

Qualification, skills, competencies, and experience requirements

Qualification:
• Bachelors degree in the field of marketing/communication

Hard skills:
• Digital marketing communication skills
• Excellent business writing skills
• Business administration and data management
• Strong computer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ICT skills
• Experience with and deep knowledge of social networking platforms
• Knowledge of and experience with Photoshop and/or Illustrator or equivalent

Soft skills:

Experience:
At least 2 years applied, relevant experience in a marketing communication function or equivalent.

Working conditions:
During the COVID 19 pandemic, this contract, full-time, 18-month post is primarily a work-from-home position. Depending on future developments, you could be required to work from the office periodically. Even though this position is home-based at this time, you must be available during standard office hours (8am – 5pm).
