National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT)

JET Education Services was instrumental in establishing the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), which grew out of a response to a call by the then JET CEO for civil society collaboration to accelerate the pace of national development and achievement of the education targets set out in the National Development Plan. The Education Collaboration Framework (ECF) was produced through a consultative process in early 2013 and is the NECT's plan for education reform. The NECT's focus areas include, among others, district-based improvement programmes, systemic interventions, encouraging the development of innovative educational interventions and the Education DialogueSA programme which is designed to engage influential stakeholders in discussions on approaches and issues in education. The NECT is supported by the Department of Basic Education as well as the private sector. JET plays a role as monitoring agent for the District Improvement Programme.

National Association of Social Change Entities in Education (NASCEE)

JET Education Services is a co-founding members of the National Association of Social Change Entities in Education (NASCEE), an association of education non-profit organisations working towards maximising the contribution of NPOs towards the national development goals related to education.

The SADTU Curtis Nkondo Professional Development Institute (SCNPDI)

The SADTU Curtis Nkondo Professional Development Institute (SCNPDI) was established by the South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) to meaningfully contributes to the professional development (PD) of teachers. JET Education Services was appointed managing agent to assists in bringing the institute into being by putting the necessary oragnisational structures and practices into place. JET has assisted with managing the training of some 82 000 teachers through professional development initiatives and through the delivery of an e-learning system (from 2014).

Post-School Education and Training (PSET CLOUD)

The Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) entered into an agreement with JET to fund a project called Post-School Education and Training Collaboration and Learning Opportunities and Utilisation of Data (PSET CLOUD). The current PSET system is characterised by fragmentation of data, duplication of resources and a lack of coherence of information leading to an ineffective system for planning and decision making with regard to future needs in skills development.

African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF)

Skills and qualifications of the people in Africa are at the heart of African renaissance. Therefore, the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) is a vital policy of the African Union. Development of the ACQF is underway (2019-2022). The African Union Commission (AUC) is partnering with the European Union (EU), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the European Training Foundation (ETF), in developing the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF), a key output of the “Skills for Youth Employability Project” (SYEP). JET Education Services (JET), was appointed to undertake the first part of the AQCF development process, namely the mapping study of qualifications frameworks in Africa aligned to the African Union’s (AU) Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want.
