Working Groups

Working Groups

In an intensive process of workshops undertaken in 2015 and 2016, a number of working groups were set up to develop recommendations and resources relating to literacy/reading (the Consolidated Literacy Working Group), mathematics (three groups dealing with number sense, geometry and mathematical thinking) as well as three cross-cutting groups to provide support to these discipline specific groups (Knowledge management, Assessment, and Work-Integrated Learning).

Assessment (CCWG 2)

Consolidated Literacy Working Group (CLWG)

Developing new teacher graduate’s ability to teach African languages and English First Additional language, with a special focus on reading

Knowledge Management (CCWG 1)

Knowledge management, including materials development, monitoring and evaluation liaison, communication, marketing and network coherence. This working group finished its work in mid-2020.

Mathematical thinking (WG 4)

Developing new teacher graduate’s ability to think mathematically and to infuse their own teaching with a mathematical thinking approach

Mathematics - geometry (WG 3)

Developing new teacher graduate’s ability to teach geometry and measurement

Mathematics - number (WG 2)

Developing new teacher graduate’s ability to teach number sense and early algebra

Work-Integrated Learning (CCWG 3)
