Thrive by Five Index 2024: National Findings Launched
On 8 September 2025, the Thrive by Five Index 2024 National Findings were launched. This Index represents the largest survey of preschool child outcomes in South Africa, a collaborative effort to track progress and drive positive change in Early Childhood Development (ECD).
At JET Education Services, the Foundational Learning and Assessment Unit is prioritising two critical areas:
Teaching strategies – strengthening how young children are taught.
Emotional functioning – supporting children’s wellbeing for lifelong learning.
Through the Engage Tool, funded by the LEGO Foundation, we are working to equip practitioners, researchers, and policymakers with evidence-based insights to build stronger foundations for every child.
Together, we can ensure that every child in South Africa Thrives by Five.
