JET seeks to recruit 12 team leaders and 24 fieldworkers to undertake EGRA and EGMA assessments of Grade 2 learners for the Systemic Improvement of Language and Numeracy (SILN) in the Foundation Phase Programme currently running in Mpumalanga. Successful applicants will be contracted for a two-week period 28 February – 11 March, to undertake fieldwork in Mpumalanga. In addition, successful applicants will be expected to attend training on the 21st February in Johannesburg.
Recruitment criteria are as follows:
- Proven experience working with young children (six to nine years old), preferably in a Primary school environment
- Matric Certificate
- Teaching, or other relevant qualification(s)
- Fluent in one or more of the following language groupings: IsiZulu & SiSwati; IsiZulu & IsiNdebele; Xitsonga & IsiZulu; Siswati only
- Applicants for a Team Leader’s position must have a valid Driver’s licence
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to pay attention to detail
- Basic Computer Literacy and competence in Microsoft Word
Please note:
- Preference will be given to residents of Mpumalanga for the Field Worker positions
- Applicants for Team Leaders positions can be resident in either Gauteng or Mpumalanga
Successful candidates will have to supply us with the following information:
- A detailed CV
- A copy of drivers license if applicable
- A written piece in Microsoft Word detailing the top five important things to consider when working with young children
- A copy of your matric certificate and any other relevant qualifications
Successful candidates will be placed on database of assessors for follow-up projects
