Run Home To Read: The Comrades Marathon 85.7 Kilometres for Early Literacy

On 14 June 2026, Nkhensani Baloyi will take on her 5th Comrades Marathon, running 86 kilometres in support of the Run Home To Read Initiative, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

Led by JET Education Services in partnership with Project Literacy Education Centres, the Run Home To Read Initiative helps ensure that young children have access to quality reading books before they enter Grade R, laying the foundation for lifelong learning and academic success.

Nkhensani has successfully completed the Comrades Marathon in four consecutive years:
