RFQ: External Audit Services for a Period of Three (3) Years

The Gauteng Education Development Trust (GEDT) is inviting suitably qualified and experienced audit firms to participate in the tender process for the appointment of External Auditors for a period of three (3) years.

Interested firms are requested to submit proposals demonstrating their ability to provide independent external audit services in accordance with the Terms of Reference.

To be considered, audit firms should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Be registered and in good standing with the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA).
• Be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Have a valid Tax Compliance Status PIN.
• Hold current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
• Submit a valid B-BBEE Verification Certificate or sworn affidavit, where applicable.
• Provide audited annual financial statements for the past two financial years.
• Demonstrate proven experience in auditing trusts, Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs), Public Benefit Organisations (PBOs), donor-funded programmes, and government grant-funded entities.
• Demonstrate experience in auditing financial statements prepared in accordance with IFRS for SMEs.
• Have an appropriately qualified audit team with relevant professional memberships (e.g. IRBA, SAICA, ACCA or SAIPA).
• Submit a clear audit methodology, including the audit planning, execution, and reporting approach.
• Provide reference letters from similar engagements demonstrating relevant experience.
• Declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest and confirm auditor independence.

The evaluation process will consist of the following stages:

  1. Mandatory pre-qualification compliance.
  2. Functionality evaluation.
  3. Presentation by shortlisted bidders.
