In a move to support schools in need, JET Education Services has donated office furniture and equipment to 11 schools across Johannesburg. This donation comes as part of JET’s ongoing commitment as an independent, non-profit organisation that works with government and the public sector, civil society organisations, local and international development agencies and educational institutions to improve the quality of education and the relationship between education, skills development, and the world of work.
JET left its home of 10 years, the Education Hub in Parktown, Johannesburg. A changing work environment meant that the building was no longer fit-for-purpose, and it moved into its new, scaled-down premises at 18 Glenhove Road, Melrose Estate, near Rosebank in Johannesburg in December 2024. Alongside the move, JET transitioned to a hybrid working model, this shift has led to the decision to move to a smaller office space, making surplus office furniture and equipment available for donation.
“JET chose to give back to the schools we work with, ensuring that the furniture and equipment could be put to good use where it is needed most, ” said James Keevy, CEO at JET Education Services.
The donated items include desks, chairs, shelves, cabinets, and other essential office equipment, which will assist school administrators and educators in creating a more functional and efficient working environment. The beneficiary schools, many of which operate with limited resources, welcomed the donation as a much-needed boost.
