JET Congratulates Professor Brian Figaji on his appointment as Chancellor of CPUT
JET Education Services congratulates former JET Board Member Professor Brian Figaji on his appointment as the new Chancellor of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).
Professor Figaji has a long history with the CPUT, having led the merger of the former Peninsula Technicon and Cape Technicon that established CPUT 20 years ago. His leadership, vision, and commitment to higher education will continue to shape the university’s success over the next few years.
The appointment also reminds us of Professor Figaji’s legacy at JET, where he retired from the Board at the end of December 2022 after serving 22 years on the JET Board of Directors. Figaji takes over from Thandi Modise, the former chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, who was appointed in 2017. We wish him all the best in this next chapter.
