Global Digital Collaboration Conference 2026

On day 2 of the conference, James Keevy, JET CEO, is moderating the session “Verifiable Credentials and Academic Recognition: Building Global Trust for Lifelong Learning.” Move from theory to practice: this panel spotlights real-world implementations and use cases of digital wallets and verifiable credentials for lifelong learning. Featuring case studies from across the world (e.g. North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa), panelists will share how digital diplomas, transcripts, learning and employment records, and micro-credentials are currently being deployed and recognized. And they will speculate about which other applications should co-exist in qualifications focused wallet to help build trust, eliminate recognition friction across borders, and empower lifelong learners.

Objectives and outcomes

This session aims to map the current landscape of digital wallet and verifiable credential adoption across lifelong learning systems without getting bogged down in technical complexity. It focuses on where wallets and credentials are already in active use to solve everyday challenges, such as accelerating university admissions, eliminating diploma fraud, and simplifying cross-border job applications. By learning and comparing how different governments, universities, and organizations have successfully launched their initiatives, participants will gain a practical understanding of how different regions approach wallet and credential rollouts and what can already create real value for learners, education and training providers, employers, and the society at large today.
