Call for Case Study: 2026 Global Report on Teachers

UNESCO and the Teacher Task Force are preparing the 2026 Global Report on Teacher and are inviting you to share your evidence-based case studies showcasing effective teacher professional development across all levels and learning contexts.

UNESCO and the International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030 (TTF) are developing the second edition of the Global Report on Teachers, focusing on teacher professional development (TPD) through the lens of lifelong learning (LLL). The 2026 Report will examine how career-long professional development opportunities for teachers are fostered, supported, and sustained across diverse contexts and the various spaces where teachers learn. As part of this effort, we invite submissions of evidence-based case studies that highlight effective programmes and policies supporting teacher professional development. For the purpose of the Report, we understand TPD as encompassing initial training and education, induction and mentoring, continuing professional development, self-initiated professional learning, and community-based learning. The Report will also maintain an inclusive view of professionalised educators, which includes teachers working within early childhood care and education (ECCE), primary and secondary education, higher education, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), and adult and literacy education (ALE).
   

Five types of case studies are welcomed:    

  • Teacher-led initiatives of professional development (local, national or transnational)
  • Community, local or city-scaled  initiatives
  • Country Case Studies
  • Regional Case Studies
  • Innovative projects or programmes that align with a lifelong perspective of teacher professional development 

The submission deadline is 30 November 2025.
