Eleanor Hazell

Eleanor is a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) specialist and researcher who has 14 years’ experience in the non-profit and public sector environments in South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and the United Kingdom. She is passionate about M&E and has a wealth of experience conducting M&E and research for education, health and social and socio-economic development projects. Her varied work includes developing M&E frameworks and plans and conducting process, outcomes and impact evaluations. Eleanor’s particular interest is the use of participatory methods and developing user-friendly M&E frameworks and tools to be used at all levels (implementation, management and governance). She has expertise in documenting programme theory and developing logic models, drafting indicators and instruments, designing evaluation methodologies and managing evaluation projects.  Since joining JET in 2013 Eleanor has led 11 M&E projects, including several multi-year and complex evaluations and been the technical M&E lead on three evaluations for the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) in the National Evaluation Plan. Eleanor is currently studying for her MPhil in Monitoring and Evaluation.
