Mororiseng Maapola

Chief Financial Officer

Mororiseng Maapola CA(SA) is a qualified Chartered Accountant. She is dedicated and disciplined and has extensive financial knowledge which she uses to implement a proactive approach to prudent financial management. Maapola comes from the community development and education sector, working directly with and for Junior Achievement South Africa as a Finance Director. She completed her articles at Deloitte, with additional three months of international secondment to Rochester City, New York Upstate in 2012. She has also worked at Absa Capital, and the Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Africa (NECSA) where she had early exposure to Audit and Risk Committees of the NECSA Group Board. She is passionate about education and rural development - inspired by her upbringing in rural Limpopo, at Ga-Chuene Maratapelo. In 2017, Maapola decided to follow her heart, and joined the Education Sector through the South African Institute for Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and Department of Higher Education & Training (DHET) Project, as the CFO at the Vuselela TVET College based in the North West, Klerksdorp.

Since joining JET Education Services as CFO and Executive Director, Maapola has contributed significantly to strengthening the organisation’s financial and operational systems. She has played a key role in maintaining a strong control environment, driving the automation of systems, and securing unqualified audit opinions for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024). She also leads the JET Anchor functional group (FGX), JET’s dynamic new strategy rooted in holacracy and agile implementation. Beyond her executive role at JET, Maapola continues to contribute to the education sector at large: she has been a NASCEE Board Member since 2022; a guest facilitator at Junior Achievement South Africa’s Company of the Year Competitions in 2022 and 2023, focusing on Product Costing, Sales, and Break-even modules; and a regional adjudicator for the EDHE Intervarsity Competitions from 2024.
