JET Annual Meeting Highlights

The JET Annual Meeting 2025 took place on 07 August at The Venue, Melrose Arch, Johannesburg, bringing together partners, clients, colleagues, and friends of JET to celebrate achievements of 2024 and to ask the important question: What Comes Next?

Our Masters of Ceremonies, Ashley Manuels and Thato Meje, set the tone for the day, which began with a stirring performance of My African Dream by Stephanie Baartman. JET Board Chairperson, Nathan Johnstone, officially opened the meeting with a message of purpose and possibility, followed by keynote speaker Dr Abdullah Verachia, global strategist, entrepreneur, and academic, who delivered an address on Navigating Disruption: Global Trends Shaping the Future of Skills and Learning. Dr Verachia, who leads The Strategists, holds the MultiChoice Chair in Sport, Media and Entertainment at GIBS, and directs the Harvard Business School Senior Executive Programme for Africa, shared global insights on the trends shaping the future of education and skills.

The programme also featured a moving interlude by Moriting Primary School, reminding us why we do the work that we do for future generations. JET CEO, James Keevy, reflected on JET’s progress and the path ahead in transforming education through innovation, while partners and JETSetters brought the 2024 Annual Report to life with stories and insights. The day closed with a vote of thanks from JET’s CFO, Mororiseng Maapola, who acknowledged the contributions of our clients, partners, staff, and board. Thank you to everyone who joined us in making the JET Annual Meeting 2025 a memorable celebration of education and innovation.

"Through a holacracy, a flatter, more systemic way of working, we’re showing that a small non-profit at the tip of Africa can drive real change. And we are doing it," adds James Keevy, JET CEO, speaking at the JET Annual Meeting.
