Implementation Evaluaton of the National School Nutrition Programme published by the DPME

Now available in the DPME's Evaluation Repository

In line with the National Evaluation Policy Framework, the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) has published the Implementation Evaluation of the National School Nutrition Programme (NSNP). This evaluation was carried out by JET for the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and the DPME in  2016.  See  Implementation Evaluation of the National School Nutrition Programme. As part of the evaluation, JET constructed an index to assess implementation of a school nutrition programme.

The NSNP evaluation is one of several implementation evaluations that JET has conducted for the DBE and the DPME.  Also in 2016, JET conducted the Implementation Evaluation of the Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme (FLBP). The FLBP is an important mechanism to address shortages in teacher supply in South Africa, having supported 15% of students recruited into initial teacher education (ITE) programmes over the first six years of its implementation. For more information and to download the FLBP reports see: Implementation Evaluation of the Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme
