JET is seeking to appoint a project coordinator for the Anglo American South Africa (AASA) Education Project (Limpopo)

JET seeks to appoint a dynamic, accomplished, high-level operational project coordinator to join its established project management office (PMO). This is an 18 month contract position, based at JET’s head office in Johannesburg.

The appointed project coordinator will assist with the programme implementation in Limpopo Province in collaboration with the project manager and programme director. 

Required qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Community Development or related field. 

Knowledge, experience and skills required 

  • Knowledge and experience in the education and/or development sectors
  • Extensive experience in and proven track record of coordinating and supporting large-scale, complex interventions 
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in project coordination, including budget tracking and flawless record keeping 
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • High-level planning, organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in XiTsonga, TshiVenda and SePedi will be an added advantage for this position
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with project partners, clients and stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task and work under extreme pressure
  • Computer literacy (MS Office package)
  • A valid and unendorsed code 08 driver’s license

The individual should be willing to travel and be highly motivated to make a difference in the education sector through the work JET does.

Key Performance Areas

The project coordinator is expected to ensure effective project implementation by:

  • Ensuring targets are met
  • Budget tracking and record keeping
  • Coordinating monitoring and evaluation of project implementation
  • Coordinating information and reporting     
  • Ensuring effective communication and flow of information 
  • Developing and maintaining relationships 
  • Managing diverse group of highly skilled team members
  • Working closely with the project director and senior project manager to optimise and implement agreed programme activities
  • Working collaboratively with the various curriculum and infrastructure specialists 

The project coordinator will work closely with and report directly to the project manager.
