JET has a vacancy for a Specialist Manager: Education Management and Implementation

JET Education Services seeks to appoint a dynamic and accomplished high-level Specialist Manager in the Education Management and Implementation (EMI) division. The Specialist Manager will be responsible for spearheading the execution of ICT in education projects, monitoring and evaluation of projects across JET’s six thematic areas, the conceptualisation of proposals and also new business development.

The appointee will be expected to conceptualise, develop and contribute to EMI’s current school improvement strategies and projects and to manage staff in a manner that will enable the achievement of JET’s strategic objectives and tie into the JET value chain.  The successful applicant will be offered a two-year, fixed-term contract.

The requirements for the position are:  

A Master’s Degree in international development, curriculum and policy or a similar field;

  • Knowledge of ICT in education;
  • A proven track record of coordinating and supporting large-scale, complex, high-level interventions;
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in large-scale education projects, including budget tracking and flawless record keeping;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of monitoring and evaluation experience;
  • Experience in curriculum review and development;
  • Experience in with working with donors and donor countries preferred
  • Knowledge of linguistics and experience with working in African languages preferred
  • Expertise in Microsoft suite, MS Access, R/Stata and programme management
