Raymond Matlala
Raymond is a Doctoral Candidate in Business Administration, specialising in Entrepreneurship with a focus on youth and undergraduate entrepreneurship development. Raymond is an education research specialist whose role at JET is to provide research support on special projects such as the Initial Teacher Education Research Project
He has worked on several of JET’s international research projects, including: a review of different understandings of Global Citizenship Education in nine Southern African countries and the status of National Qualifications Framework (NQFs) in Southern African Development Community (SADC) coountries, both for UNESCO; the finalisation of the SADC Regional Qualifications Framework for SADC Member States for the SADC Secretariat; and reviewing and updating the Virtual University for Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC) Transnational Qualifications Framework (TQF)for the Commonwealth of Learning.
Additionally, Raymond is an international youth activist, helping youth to apply and take an interest in international youth conferences and summits. He is a member of the South African Youth for International Diplomacy, where he serves as the BRICS Coordinator. He is a co-founder of the Euro-BRICS Young Leaders’ Platform, serving as the National Representative for South Africa.
He has presented research papers at international conferences and co-authored papers which have appeared in international journals.
