SPECIALIST: Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges
JET is seeking an FET college specialist who will report to the Executive Manager Youth and Community Development Division, and will be responsible for the implementation of project activities across provinces.
The Youth and Community Development Division of JET has a particular focus on the development of quality education and training in public vocational (or Further Education and Training) colleges to deliver programmes that will prepare young school leavers for careers and further learning. To this end, the division provides support to the Department of Higher Education and Training and to the colleges themselves to strengthen capacity and improve performance. JET is seeking an FET college specialist who will report to the Executive Manager Youth and Community Development Division, and will be responsible for the implementation of project activities across provinces.
Relevant applicants will have
• Specialist training in the specified area: Community and youth development
• The ability to design innovative development interventions and to do development facilitation
• An interest in and potential to carry out business development
• Good writing and presentation skills
The minimum requirements for this position include:
• A proven record of success in the specified area, either as a practitioner or advisor
• Post graduate qualification in education or development
• Teaching and/or management experience of more than 5 years at a college or school level
• Extensive knowledge of education management and/or teaching policies and practices in South Africa
• Basic research experience
• Skills development knowledge
• Good writing and presentation skills
• Computer literacy
The successful candidate will be required to travel to all provinces in the country.
