Michelle Mathey, Executive Manager, SID

Michelle has an M.A. in Applied Language Studies and a Higher Diploma in Education.

She has extensive experience in teaching English at school level.

She was a lecturer in Education at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a lead member of a number of Education Development projects in KZN and the Eastern Cape. 

Michelle co-authored three English First Additional Language (EFAL) textbooks. She conducted research work on the EFAL curriculum for Umalusi. 

She is an alumnus of SETI( University of Pennsylvania, USA). 

Responsibilities:
Michelle leads JET's School Improvement Division in terms of :
Development of business plans; conceptualisation and implementation of sustainable systemic school improvement projects ; proposal writing ; procurement and management of budgets; quality assurance of interventions and material outputs; reporting to funders and other stakeholders.
